Undelete replaces the Windows recycle bin with a catch-all Recovery Bin that intercepts all deleted files, no matter how they were deleted or who deleted them. Lost file? File recovery is no problem! Use the Recovery Bin's Windows Explorer-like interface to navigate to the file, or take advantage of Undelete's powerful search capabilities. Right-click the file, select Recover, and the file is back. NEW Version Protection makes it even easier to restore overwritten versions of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) files. Just right-click the file and select View Versions and restore the file you want. You can even preview the files before recovery to help you find the right version.
Server Desktop Client New! Undelete 2009 Professional and Server editions extend native support for 64 bit operating systems.
Version Recovery
Undelete automatically captures old versions of Microsoft Office files (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), allowing recovery of earlier versions that have been saved over. Version Recovery is integrated with Windows Explorer - simply right-click a file to recover earlier versions.
Recovery Bin
The Recovery Bin catches all files no matter how they were deleted, allowing you to restore them instantly with just a few clicks of the mouse. The Recovery Bin mimics the directory structure of your disk and includes a powerful search function, making it easy to find and recover files.

New! - Automatically adjusts the Recovery Bin size when the free space becomes critically low on a volume
![]() If the size of a volume becomes critically low, Undelete automatically detects this low free space situation and reduces the Recovery Bin size. Meanwhile, it automatically starts purging out the oldest deleted files in the Recovery Bin – using InvisiTasking – so it is completely invisible. When more free space becomes available after the purge, the Recovery Bin will automatically re-adjust its size back to the original size setting. The user can select the critical free space threshold (for example, 10% of the volume size), and has the option to set the Recovery Bin size to be either Static (set in size) or Dynamic (automatically adjusts according to free space amount).
![]() Undelete incorporates the innovative InvisiTasking performance technology. Background tasks in Undelete now operate with zero overhead, using only wasted system resources. These now invisible background tasks include: purging the Recovery Bin when it fills up (per settings), managing the common Recovery Bin (moving files from one volume to another), securely overwriting free spaces using the automatic Wipe Free Space, and automatically adjusting the size of the Recovery Bin.
New! Wipe Free Space
This feature deletes files and overwrites free space using the sequence of bit patterns dictated by the National Security Agency (NSA) and/or Department of Defense (DOD) regulations on the subject.
![]() Undelete Desktop Client
With the Undelete Desktop Client, users of computers attached to your servers can recover their own files directly from server Recovery Bins. The Desktop Client can be pushed out to client systems by Undelete Server.
New! Includes 10 desktop clients that connect with remote Recovery Bins on file servers and enable users to recover lost files on their own Secure Delete
When SecureDelete is enabled, files that are purged from the recovery bin are overwritten with random data using a methodology developed for the National Security Agency.
New! Undelete now securely deletes files in the Recovery Bin immediately, rather than waiting for the files to be purged from the bin. ![]() Directory Structure Preservation
The Recovery Bin makes locating deleted files easier by displaying them in their original directory structure, even if the directories have been deleted. Undelete gives you the option of recovering files to either the original or an alternate location.
File Information
The Recovery Bin displays information about each deleted file including the file owner, the date and time the file was deleted, and the account used to delete the file.
Network File Protection
With Undelete Desktop Client or Pro Edition installed on network clients, your users can connect to the Undelete Server Edition Recovery Bins installed on the network file servers and restore their own deleted or saved over MS Office files. NTFS security is fully supported.
Emergency Undelete
Undelete can recover files deleted before Undelete was installed, provided they haven't been overwritten. Enhancements in version 5 allow even more files to be safely recovered directly from the disk. Plus you can recreate the original folders which makes reorganizing your restored files a snap.
Enhanced Browsing
You can now preview files in the Recovery Bin to find the exact one you want to restore.

![]() "I recently had a spike that wiped out the $750,000 database. It was gone. There were also other less critical files and folders that went too, but the database was the major concern. This next statement will ring true with most IT managers. I had been requesting UPS protection for over a year. The organisation, non-profit had grown very quickly but the support and protection had languished in numerous requests for better backup drives, better backup software, UPS, and disaster recovery methods.
I went to the backup tapes and found them useless. Seems the current software does not backup opened folders so there was no database. I had visions of staff keying in data of over 3000 people. And to complicate the issue some of the original data had been keyed directly from phone conversations with no hard copy and no way of getting those people to contact us again.
On a hope of something going right and remembering the ease that the Diskeeper software trial installed I went to Diskeeper Corporation web page and downloaded Undelete. Installed it, and recovered 97% of the database and 100% of all other files."
Peter Andrews, FAIRA, Wooloongabba, Queensland, Australia
"We have been using Undelete since version 4. We use it on both staff and student file servers to facilitate the almost immediate recovery of deleted files. We still use tape backup, but the speed and ease of recovery with undelete and the 5 free clients in undelete version 5 (Server) means selected IT literate staff can recover files on behalf of students.
I would recommend Undelete 5 to augment any file backup/recovery system."
Martin Crockett, ITC Manager, Saint Peters College (Customer also using Diskeeper and Northern Storage Suite)
"We purchased Undelete to fill the gap in Microsoft Windows Server file sharing. Installation on our main file server was a breeze, and with some quick customisation it was up and running - set and forget!
Although we haven't as yet used it to reclaim a critical file, it's nice to know we can if needs be - never again will we have to explain to a distraught staff member that we can't recover the file they accidently deleted after working on it all day."
Sam Latz, IT Manager, Alice Springs Town Council
